  1. The longer it's been in the water, the worse it's performance. Exactly how much is impossible to say, although I recall a review of water balls some time ago in a magazine. Golf Magazine I believe. Won't hurt your clubs, just your ego.

  2. Golf balls retrieved from water will not harm the clubs. Depending on the length of time a ball has been submerged will determine the amount of elasticity it MAY lose. Golf ball covers are impermeable so chances are the ball you find in the water will perform as well as the person who uses it.

  3. No harm to the club.  However, the balls performance can be affected by being in the water a long time....how long that is I don't really know.

  4. I have never heard of a water ball causing any kind of damage to a club

  5. No!!  Where did you hear of this myth??

  6. they won't hurt your clubs.  According to Frank Thomas (franklygolf.com) the submerged ball will lose distance (a small amount that grow the longer it's submerged).  They'd be fine, if you don't care.  But if you do, stick to newer balls.

  7. Old wives tale. Cut one open and see for yourself.
