What is the good brand for GPS?

Garmin.

I looked at all the makes and models from every company for over a year. I finally setteled on the Garmin 750.

works great.

The only thing is and I found this with all the online maping sources is that when setting a destination south of New York City, since I'm in New England, they all want to send me over the George Washington Bridge via I-95.

Well if you have ever gone over the GW, it's in the Bronx, you know traffic is bad no matter when you go over it.

I travel that route often so I just go the way I know over the Tapeen Zee Bridge and then when i'm south of that set in my destination. if I don't know where i'm going.

Works great even in the back roads of NH, Maine and confusing streets of Boston.

Sometime the way it sends you may seem strange, but it really works, it knows the best routes and easily re routes you if you miss a turn.

Make sure you get one like the 750 that says the street names when giving directions and not just turn here.

Do be careful if downloading and adding POI files from different people.

They work great as long as the info is correct. Remeber those files are made by people and people canand do make mistakes.

I used one to find a resturant, so I would not miss it, I knew sorta where it was but used the downloaded file, the file was wrong and tried to send me to a neigborhood. I ended up putting in the address which the file had as correct to get there, the person making the file just must have gotten the wrong corordinates for that resturant.
