  1. It depended where do you live. Cereals are being used to create gas and in consequence cereals are more expensive today. Countries that produce cereals as Argentina will be benefited, but it will be famine in Africa poor countries. To fill a tank of gas means the food for one poor child in Africa for one year.

  2. This is relative to focus and perception.

The oligopoly would influence the belief that brings the greatest profit.  Information to facilitate high prices is constantly being broadcast.  This is to manipulate perception of habitual consumers.  Those who enjoy the cavalier freedom of personal automobile transportation will adjust to maintain this style of life.  People who can afford to drive will continue to pay to do so.

Shift gears.  Modern Cuba has made the pragmatic adjustment to the reality of scarce petroleum resources.  The benefits are a return to family farming.  Oxen are replacing tractors.  People are getting healthy amounts of fresh food and exercise.   Walking is not a crime.  Mass transit is an imperative convenience.

High prices of oil may be an enormous unintentional benefit to innovative intelligent industrial and technical critical thinkers.  Things are seldom all that they appear to be.  This is a valuable economic and social lesson.

  3. the good is simply save mother earth, the bad is we waited to long for alternative energy and transportation, now we have h**l to pay.

  4. The good is that it will lead to innovation and the harm is... um...?

In addition, with an increase in fuel prices the cost to manufacture goods in other countries and ship them to the US will increase.  Perhaps it will lead to some companies bringing back manufacturing facilities to the States which would make lots of people very happy.

People need to accept that we have been living on extremely cheap gas for decades and that it couldn't last.  This higher price for gas will bring about changes that are desperately needed.

(This is all from a US prospective, too sleepy to type avout other countries...)

  5. That is just a COMMON SENSE answer... what do YOU think is the result of high fuel prices which cause people to have less money to spend on OTHER things... you can answer your OWN question if you just think about it.
