  1. What GOAL? Are you talking about the US Goverments goal to help people and their medical coverage? they have not done anything toward this, Social security is in the TOILET, Our Health Coverage is there also, over 60% of all Americans have no health coverage. Politicians keep making promises, just to get elected.. but once in office ... then what?...  Our current leader is trying to help out other countries but what about our country>? I beleieve fix things at home first before you go out and try to fix the neighbors problems.  Sorry..for the rant. It's unacceptable when you ahve two parents working full time one making over $75k a year and yet cannot afford medical coverage for the whole family.. It's a sad day.

    MIchael...

  2. A healthier country.  They are there to make suggestion not policy.

  3. To win votes.

In Western Europe, most governments are concerned with ensuring that the nation is healthy as that wins votes.

In the USA, the aim is to keep taxes down as that wins votes instead.

For those who think that the US healthcare SYSTEM is great, look at the facts.  The USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.  And despite that, the US has one of the highest death rates amongst the western world for children aged under five.

If the US electorate cared, the government would change that.

  4. Hopefully none. It should be my choice as well as the choice of the people who with and how they get insurance. The government is not liable or obligated to provide me with financial, living, or health benefits. Their only job is to allow me to be able to get those things on my own by working hard. The Constitution is all I need them to uphold.

“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime” (should be our government's policy)

  5. Ideally not at all. Socialized medicine gives the least care to the most people.
