  1. Get a Glock 17.  It's a 9mm and holds a lot of bullets in case you are a bad shot.

    9mm Parabellum isn't bad.

  2. most companies have their own policies... here in hawaii, most seem to carry .357 mag, though i dont know if thats personaly preference or not

  3. 9mm

  4. the company will probly tell you what u can and cant have or they might even issue a pistol to u

  5. Company policy may dictate what you can carry. That would be tough to buy a nice pistol now and next week be told you can't carry that one on duty.

Why not ask the shift supervisor, manager or person who is hiring you? Then we can talk about your new handgun.

  6. In all probability you will be restricted to a duty size (4").38 revolver

In that case get a Taurus or Smith

At best you will be allowed to carry a full size 9mm

In that case get a Taurus or Beretta

If the company doesn't issue the guns to you

State law may also dictate what you can carry

ntil recently guards in Florida were restricted to .38s and a specific load (I don't remeber what it was)

  7. .45 or .357 sig

  8. One company around here either brinks or some other company carries the Ruger GP100 .357 mag.

  9. there is no such thing as a 45 magnum. You carry whatever the company requires or allows.

My advice, get as much firearms training as you possibly can.

    shoot safe
