I just wondering what people thought to be the hardest game in cue sports? there is many game in cue sports includung Snooker, Three Cushion Billiard, Pool ( i.e. 9 ball, 8 ball, Rotation, Straight Pool etc.) Russian Billiard etc.

I play Pool and Snooker and I found out Snooker is much harder than Pool when it comes to pocketing but Pool is much artistic than Snooker when it comes to Position play and Safety play.

I want some answers from people with lot of experience. Please explain your answer too.... thanks

  1. i think football

  2. 54 years enough ?? Im sure you will get a lot of good answers .But snooker is just a shot makers game it is like compairing checkers to chess-

snooker would be checkers just a couple of diffrent moves -and put the ball in the pocket done deal for snooker-No thinking or real shot making can you picture a snooker player sinking a 3-4 cushion shot he would be on the front page of every newspaper in the UK

Hardest game is banks like straight but bank every shot-or a 3 cushion kick shot.try running 10 or 12 shots then see for your self-It also will get you ready for just about any other game you want to play, and learn how to get out of tight spots without a junp stick.

  3. snooker

  4. Snooker or 3 cushion is a more apt question. Pool aint in the same league let alone a division of.

  5. I find one pocket one of the hardest in pool. snooker is very tough, due to size of table, and size of pockets.

One pocket is a game where a player, is usually faced with banks, and great defensive game, you don't leave the player behind the balls, great strategy game.

  6. Try 15-ball rotation call shot.

And if you really want a challenge... play it on a 7-foot bar-box. The play area is more cluttered. Guaranteed a challenged.

9-ball, even 10-ball is a lot easier than 15-ball rotation.

Bank pool is hard but in "banks" you don't have to bank in rotation.

  7. i agree with  Jay9ball  on rotation, as being the hardest, but i wouldnt say hardest, as i totall agree with  Vegas Matt's  look at it, he wrote about exactlly what i was thinking when i read this question yesterday.   fun fact    = i read that reyes would use rotation as prastice, and would only stop when he ran either 3 or 4 consecutive racks n a row. i forget if it was 3 or 4. he did that routine everyday, and to do that it is a nice feat in itself.

Johnny are you refering to my thoughts that i wrote about the game, that i decided to erase after a few hours of thinking about having what i wrote, exposed at this point? and where to see my face. Did you like and understand it:)  hope many will soon.

  8. I don't like when people ask this question. None are harder or easier, they're just different. Pocketing balls in snooker is more difficult, but that doesn't make the game 'harder.' I've played plenty of pool with players who grew up on snooker tables, and they often sucked.

Look at straight pool, for instance. There is no simpler game. All you do is rack up the balls, and pocket them in no particular order until you hit a score. So it's an 'easy' game, right? Well, to be a great straight pool player, you must be able to run 50 balls in a row, and most players I know who can run a rack of 9 ball couldn't do that if their life depended on it. So is it a hard game?

Anyway, that's my rant. No type of cue sport is harder or easier, they're just different, and require you to be better at particular aspects of playing to be good.
