What is the hardest wood in the world?

i have been told there was or is a wood that they use to use in ships for bearings. like ball bearing the shaft would go through the wood and it would hold up to the shaft turning the propeller.

  3. In the US, hard (sugar) maple has been used for years (and still is) as bearings.  It is hard and strong enough to support a lot of weight but porous enough to absorb grease.  While being greasable, they can be run dry without serious damage.

I'm sorry if my answer is not informative but I'll try my best to do it right.I don't know what is the hardest wood  worldwide but in Philippines I know.The national tree of Philippines is the Nara because,in my an-sister,they say that Nara is a powerful tree,so that's why it was worshiped of pagans,the early Filipinos.
