  1. Basically if you have a high def receiver you can use the hdmi output and run your tv to your stereo.  Then you have high def sound.  Walla!


  2. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. It sends a high definition video signal between 2 Audio/Video components. It also sends a digital audio signal between the components. To use it you'll need an HDMI cable. For example: I use an HDMI cable for the video connection between my PS3 and TV. (I use a separate cable for the audio). If you're looking at an HDMI "out" then you're looking at a port that can send the HDMI signal out to some other component--be it TV, sound system or whatever. Hope I helped!
