  1. It depends on what latitude you're at.

First, it matters whether you're at 23.5 N or 23.5 S.  Then you'll need to use an equation for the solar altitude to get the answer, you can find the equation here http://holodeck.st.usm.edu/vrcomputing/v... to calculate the altitude.  You'll either choose the first day of September or the last day, depending on whether you're north or south of the equator, and then choose local solar noon for the time.
