  1. I've been on both of the highest mountains in the World.

    Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.

Well, trick answer considering 3/4 of it is under water:)

  2. gee, I feel like a piker among these high altitude people. But I lived at 7000 feet, in Flagstaff and Grand Canyon Arizona, for 7 years.

I have also been in the Raton Pass of Colorado/New Mexico, at 7888 feet.

  3. I've been at the top of Pike's Peak, about 14,000 feet.  Even in June, it's cold up there and the air is thin, so you have to be careful not to over-exert yourself.

  4. Only 8,700 ft.        But I climbed from about 4000 ft. to get there.  It was great.  Good night-time view of city lights in El Paso.

Franklin Mountains (west side of El Paso, TX)

Need to go to a decent size mountain, don't I?

I've been near Mount Ranier (14,000 ft. in Washington state), but being near it isn't being up there.  So where is the Aconcagua, anyway?

  5. The radius of the Earth is 6,378.1 km, so 6,381.1 km...

  6. 14,259 feet (4346 meters), on a hike to the top of Long's Peak in Colorado.

  7. I hiked up Mt. Whitney when I was in Boy Scouts.  It's about 14,496 ft. in elevation, although different sites give slightly different elevations.

The air got noticably thinner above 12,000 ft.

  8. Pikes Peak, CO 14,110 - Mount Shasta, CA 14,179

    h***s Canyoun, OR/ID 7,993

    What about you?

  9. I've been near the Aconcagua... so something like 5000 Metres.

  10. 'Khardunga La' (J & K, India) - peak to the right of the pass at 19300 feet from Mean Sea Level.  (way back in Aug 1972).
