  1. 4.0 is the highest gpa you can obtain if

    you take regukar classes. however, if

    you take honors classes most schools add

    .2 to your gpa for each class and you

    could have a 5.4.

  2. In the US system, a 4.0 is the best you can have, and means you got straight A's.  (An A+ is worth the same as an A.)  However, some school (not all) will weight AP classes, and sometimes honors class, so that particular class is graded on a 5.0 scale, which throws off the 4.0 and is the reason you see people reporting GPA's above 4.0.  But it's no longer out of 4.0; it's out of a little over 4.0 instead depending on how many weighted classes you took - and since that's different for everyone, everyone's weighted GPA is on a different scale, so you can't compare them.  Which is why colleges ask for a 4.0 scale - unweighed.

  3. It varies from school to school but the highest GPA is generally 4.0.

  4. I agree it relates to the school, and honor system.

  5. usually the highest is 4.0

    but at my school you can get up to 5.0 for being

    in an honours class.

  6. 4.0 is typically the highest, However, if you take Honors courses it can be higher. The standard breakdown is:

    4.0=A

    3.0=B

    2.0=C
