  1. Any performance you get out of the ammo will depend on how well the gun shoots the ammo.  Every gun can be fussy (picky) on what it will shoot, only testing different types will give you the answer.

With that said, CCI makes a short target round that people say shoots well.  Remington also makes a short.  CCI also makes a CB short which is a very low velocity round (710 fps at the muzzle) and also very quiet.

CCI also makes a CB long with the same 710 fps at the muzzle, but I am not aware of any target round being made.

In the long rifle (lr), CCI makes a Green Tag, and Precision round as well as a subsonic round.  Federal makes a couple different target rounds, (719 and 711B), and a lead 40 gr (510) round nose.  All of those people say shoot very well.  CCI's mini mag and mini mag hp are popular sellers also.

Remington makes Ely which is very popular with bench shooters, as well as Aguilla.

Winchester also makes a T22 Target round that a few people say shoot well.

    Hope this helps.

I work the ammo counter at a large sporting goods store in Mich.

  2. In .22 Long Rifle I like Mini-Mag.  For subsonic rounds I use Remington .22 LR subsonic ammo.

Note:  Some semi-autos won't cycle subsonic ammo.

  3. Match grade Eley.

Hunting rounds I tend to go with Federal or Remington Hollow Points.

Subsonic CCI .22LR or CCI CBs
