  1. With a rack of PHLMUTT as shown, your priority isn't just to score points, but to ditch consonants and save your single vowel if possible (U is a crappy vowel, but if it's your only one, it starts looking nice).

For 19 points, you hook RETAPE as PRETAPE and play PHT.

It saves your U, gets rid of 3 consonants, leaves you drawing 3 to MULT.   Also, it doesn't set anything up for the opponent to exploit.

I'm pretty sure that's the best option you have.  PHT for 19.

  2. Very difficult board for sure.  I can't see anything better than "hula", though "pye" and "lye" and "um" are words.  Good luck with it.

  3. supercalifragilisticexpaladoshes

  4. I'd have to go with "hula".  "Layin" is not in my Webster's Dictionary, by the way.  It would either be "lay in" (two words) or "layin'" (with an apostrophe).

  5. Wow. Tough board. All I could come up with is HULA for 14 points, attached to JAY at the bottom of the board.

  6. Hula opens the board a bit more, but PHI, played to the I in Ciao will score 16, and keep your only vowel which is "Hookable" to the P in phi.

Layin is acceptable according to Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, 4th Edition defined as "a type of shot in basketball."
