What is the highest status that a rugby player can recieve for example in football it would be superbowl MVP?

sorry for asking the same type of question over and over you guys for different sports- I am writing a paper and cant find the info. If you can provide any additional info on rugby- type of plays, etc. that would be great!

The International Rugby Board (IRB) has a Player of the Year.  This would be the highest honour for an international rugby player.

However, there is also a "Player of the Tournament" award every 4 years at the World Cup.

IMO, the highest award would be "Player's Player of the Season", most teams award this each year based on the votes of their team mates.

Now the highest accolade for a Rugby player would be a member of the World Cup Winner's Team. The World Cup is about ten weeks away.But in New Zealand, we have the Super 14 contest between, Nz, South Africa, and Australia, which South Africa won this time.As far a plays go. Rugby union doesn't have plays. The whole game is divided into two halves.There are what is called "Set Pieces". These are practiced by teams so they can have an "edge" over opponents. The 2 answers above are correct. But then you can also be inducted into the irb hall of fame (like in usa with baseball, basket ball and NFL). In New Zealand we also have awards held by the NZ rugby union where player vote for who they think is the most rewarding player, ie best forward, best overall. These are probably some if the most important to the players as they are voted by, by their piers.
