  1. Many years ago several oilfield workers jumped off a burning production platform in the North Sea.  The fall to the sea was >100 feet at the helideck - other workers jumped from the rig and had falls reported of ~200'.  All had been trained in how to jump, hold position, and land.  All were injured to a greater or lesser extent.

  2. It depends upon the depth of water and your talent also. The maximum safest height will be only 100 feet.

  3. I wouldn't go much higher than that.  Even at 90 feet you can severly hurt yourself or even kill yourself if you land wrong.

  4. Ive heard that at 180 feet, the force of gravity pulling down a 150lb man, the water would feel like concrete(unless some professional diver) and essentially shatter your bones

but i could have heard wrong

  5. This is actually a tough question to answer, because there is really no answer. If you jump with correct posture and the right movement and all that techinical jazz you can jump from quite high and not hurt yourself. If you are inexperienced, even jumping from a few feet up can give you quite a slap.

  6. Actually, you could jump in from five miles up and not get hurt.  Water is just water.  Babies can splash around in it just fine.

  7. A question that you might think about before jumping, Can you swim?
