  1. Probably the biggest impact was in literature. Authors such as Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, Lord Byron, Samuel Coleridge, etc. left us with some of the most influential works of the day. The Regency era as far as culture, was far more focused on the feelings of the individual and with reconnecting with nature, thanks to the Enlightenment era that was before. Technically, Regency era people could be known as the first hippies. This was reflected in the literary works of that time, all which are still revered as classics today. The clothing styles from the Regency era are still echoed in today's fashion with the "empire waist", which became the height of fashion in the 1790's and continued on into the early 1820's. This cut is still seen today in many shirts and dresses...hope this helped!
