The history of Sesame Street would probably have to be on either www.pbs.com or Sesame Street.com

Go to PBS.com. They should have a good history on it. Also search Sesame Street on the computer. You might find alot of info. I was told Sesame Street started in 1968 and or 1969. My brother in law was baby around that time and my mother in law told me that he would watch it everyday. I hope that I helped you out a little.

http://www.beartoday.com/sesame_street_a... seems to have some pretty good info.  I also know there was a special or 2 on A&E's biography series.  Occasionally it runs on the biography for kids cable channel....most often on saturday or sunday morning.
