  1. All I can remember is in the mid 70's to mid 80's they were all the rage with hometown and country girls like the one I married.  They represented a loving touch with simple life and  not overlyly trendy with the glamour life metro folks.  They gave a girl a sense of simplicity and in touch with life and love.  They representeted a down home, not rich, in touch  way of life for the not so fancy.  Then they became "trendy" which ruined the nuance of the whole thing, then it went away.

  2. Wow, I forgot all about those!

"A spoon ring is a ring made from the handle of a spoon. The handle is cut from the spoon and then formed into a ring. There are many different techniques that can be used when forming a spoon ring. Each artist will use different tools and methods to achieve a ring shape. Most spoon rings are adjustable and depending on the length of the initial cut they can be sized to fit most ring sizes.

The origin of the spoon ring is unknown but it is commonly associated with the late 60’s to early 70’s hippie culture. The popularity of the spoon ring and spoon jewelry has fluctuated over the past 35 years. Many people can remember owning or borrowing a spoon ring at some point in their life.
