I have an old hoover 1500 washing machine and it was leaking. We found the big hose that goes from the drum to the back panel of the washing machine was split in several places. I dont know what its for but obviously water runs up it at some stage of the cycle usually about the time of the rince cycles. will I be able to replace it?

  1. put the  Hoover model number into a google search and spare parts and you might find the spare part you are looking for

  2. Sounds like the drain hose.

Here is a site that will help you find the replacement part -

If all else fails, you might be able to use a short length of flexible radiator, or heater, hose from an auto parts store.

    Good Luck

  3. Try replacing the hose first.

  4. That hose goes to a fill-level switch that shuts off the filling process once a water level is reached.  If it gets plugged, your washer will overflow while filling because it never senses when it is full.  This is not to be confused with a much larger drain hose which comes off the pump on the bottom, but that hose will be obvious.

  5. Yes it is replacable if you can find one. Probabally level control. Better off buying a decent washing machine like a Miele.
