  1. I'm just guessing , maybe Hiroshima or Nagasaki?  Towards the end of the Great War.

  2. probably in Sahara desert in Africa.

  3. The hottest recorded ambient air temperature is 136 F recorded in El Azizia, Libya, on September 13, 1922.

A temperature of around 3.6 billion degrees F was generated in a lab experiment recently, which is the record for the highest temperature of any substance in the world.  More info on that here: http://www.livescience.com/technology/06...

  4. El Azizia in Libya recorded a temperature of 136 degrees Fahrenheit (57.8 Celsius) on Sept. 13, 1922 -- the hottest ever measured.

In Death Valley, it got up to 134 Fahrenheit on July 10, 1913.

  5. The El Azizyah record has been challenged because some say it was improperly recorded. If this is true, the title falls to the next place - Death Valley, CA. 134 degrees F (57 degrees C).

However, I'm pretty sure that many places in the Arabian and Sahara desert have reached or even exceeded this value, just not 'officially'.

Also keep in mind that temperatures are officially recorded at 5 ft above the ground. On sunny, calm summer days in the desert, temperatures JUST above the ground can easily be  over 170 degrees F.

  6. 130 something in africa somewhere

  7. This site will help it has various records around the world.  http://www.keno.org/vws/weather_records_...

  8. In 1922 the temperature reached 136° Fahrenheit (58° C) in Libya. Death Valley in California holds the record for the highest temperature in the U.S. at 134° in 1913.
