  1. 2pm

  2. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM is said to be the hottest part of the day.  It is also the highest risk of getting a sunburn, so if you're out during the afternoon on a sunny day, bring water and sunblock!

  3. Generally, there is a lag time between when the sunlight is most intense and when the air temperature is highest.

On average, the hottest time of the day tends to be around 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

This is because (1) it takes time to heat up the air, so there's a delay between the energy input of sunlight and the energy output of heat, and (2) other objects (the ground, water, buildings, plants, etc) radiate their excess heat as the energy input of sunlight starts to decline after noon, adding to the energy output of heat.  This also contributes to the lag time.

However, this is just the average conditions.  Factors such as latitude, wind, cloudcover, humidity, air masses, and humans all can affect the warmest part of the day on any given day at any particular place.

  4. This all depends on where you are.  It can vary from before noon to 5pm or later.

  5. No. Around 2 PM when the earth has had its most opportunity to accumulate heat from the sun is the usual max.

  6. Around 3-5PM

  7. noon probably

  8. 114 degrees
