But, just as water doesn't start boiling the second you put it over a flame, it takes time for the atmosphere to heat up. So the hottest time of day is some time in the afternoon, but exactly when in the afternoon depends on where you are and what time of year it is.

  8. I have heard that it is between 11am and 2pm but I think between 2pm and 4pm. I live in Southern Louisiana, try going for a run between 1-4, you almost pass the F out.

  9. 4 or 5 pm. the sun has shone all day and the earth has absorbed about all the heat it can hold and we are getting sunshine as well as the heat being radiated from the earth or nearby bodies of water.

  10. i believe the hottest time of the day specially here in southern california is between 1pm and 4 pm that is when the sun is higher up in the ski.
