What is the hourly wage for Safeway courtesy clerks in Calgary (Alberta Canada)?

i think ima going to get a job at safeway. i was told that i need to start with being a courtesy clerk, so now my question is, for those of you who have worked/ have knowledge in this field, how much should i ask for the hourly wage?

I met a few people who worked there last year and their hourly wage was $8 for a general assistant.  They might have had a payrise since as the union changed a few things a few months ago.  I know in Canmore the starting rate is $13 an hour due to the high cost of living.  Hope this helps.
