What is the idea of having fans as per renewed format of yahoo?

A 'fan' is someone who likes the questions you ask and the answers you give, and wants to know when you post something new. If you become someone's fan, they become your contact, and vice versa. Taken together, they form your 'network', and 'fans' and 'contacts' appear on separate tabs in the 'network' section in your profile. The page in your profile called 'my network's Q&As' is the activity here of your contacts and fans.
