  1. hi, i used to be a swimmer so i hope i can be of some help!

    it is ideal for a swimmer to be tall and lean. this makes passage through the water easier and more streamlined.

    she should be powerful, most of the power comes from the back and the legs. this is so the swimmer can power her way through the water, but also very importantly have a powerful start, finish and turn

    it is a bit asset to have large feet and hands as just the same as using paddles and flippers when training, you can go alot faster. just look at Ian thorpe!

  2. yes...  most swimmers are like that.. although these days the swimmers are getting a little bigger.. most sprinters are bigger.. and most distance swimmer are tall and skinny

  3. yes. they are usually ripped and have great athletic features. if you are beginning then give it time, swimming is actually one of the best workouts to practice. you work all the muscles.

  4. I heard this very question discussed today on the Olympics.  Tall, lean, long arms and big hands.  

    They were discussing why Dara Torres can still compete at the age of 41.  She has all this.

  5. I think being tall and lean is helpful in almost any sport unless your a jockey or a gymnast.
