They're discreet, but you can spot them.  They're sitting in a freezing cold arena at predawn hours for their favorite little hockey player.  Or melting in the humidity at a t-ball game that's going on it's second hour.  They have broken backs from bike lessons, gray hair from the s*x talk and first dates, popsicle stick coasters and macaroni tree ornaments.  They're bored to tears sitting by the side of the pool but don't think twice about it because it's the right place to be, and nobody's going to drown on our watch.  They're often in the kitchen making cupcakes for the umpteenth event at school, or a bundt cake for a suck up apology to the neighbor who was victim to the prank calls during last night's pajama party.  

Some have small yards.  Most have no swimming pool.  Some are on the top floor of the least desirable neighborhood apartment buildings.  Some have their own bedrooms.  Some parents are divorced.  Some pay for private school.  But if you look close, there's no difference in the happiness of the kids and neither one would trade their mom for a prettier situation.

They're stay at home moms... and full time workers!  Catholics and athiests and agnostics too.  Some spank.  Some don't.  But they all have selflessness in common and committed to sacrifice so their kids could have a happy childhood.
