I would like to go so far as to get my master's or even doctorates in the future. I want to be a social worker but I don't want to be limited to social work, I would also like to be a counselor or therapist but I would also enjoy being an anthropologist and working with autistic children would please me.

  1. I'd recommend anthropology where you can be flexible to travel or to stay put and work in your community to look at trends, patterns of behavior, and all sorts of neat stuff to find solutions or create newness for people.

Its the kind of work where you can farm yourself out to a company on short term and when its over you can take a break before you start a new contract.

  2. If you don't want to be limited to social work, try a psyche degree. You can go on to get other degrees in grad school from there, you can be a therapist or counselor or change with your grad degree... Its also handy for law, medicine, teaching, or business.

  3. If you want to be a social worker you will need a degree in social work.  Social work is the most flexible of the degrees related to the human services (you can do therapy, case management, community organizing, administrative, policy, etc) and work with any population.

In general anthropologists do not work with autistic children.
