The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) has successfully lobbied the legislatures of several states that advice regarding paint selection, and furniture placement could be made only by licensed ASID members. What is the impact of such a law?

  1. By eliminating nonliscensed interior designers from the market, it would reduce the supply of interior designers.  Therefore, assuming demand remains constant, the wages of interior designers will rise and the quantity demanded will fall.

Additionally, it pretty much gives the ASID control over the salaries of interior designers, as they can decide how many people to license.

  2. That's easy - both Lowes and Home Depot will have to better train their paint and furniture department staff.

I would suggest crash courses from the team who gave us the TV show "q***r Eye for the Straight Guy".

  3. It is an attempt reduce competition which reduces supply and increase prices
