What is the impact to Islam of not having a Caliphate ?

Question

There has been no Caliphate in Islam since 1924.

- What influence did the Caliphate have on Qu'ranic interpretation and practices prior to 1924 ?

- What would the benefits be if there was a Caliphate in place today ?

For example would a 'reformist' Caliphate have more influence over the incorrect practices and perceptions of Muslims.

Conversely would a Wahhabist Caliphate have such influence that there would be mroe widespread Shahriah laws.

I'm an enquiring Christian seeking a better understanding of Islam.

nothing, much. the khalifate was just an empire acting like it had special religious significance. all old muslim kingdoms played that card.

its because the original khalifate attempted to mould society to accept them and whatever they pushed forward  as something holy so the people would say loyal despite whatever corruption they did and despite their extravagant displays of wealth.

you can see that now in the saudis, they push forward there obsucure hadith and teach them to their citizens,saying that a muslim must obey whoever it is in power even if he is a bad ruler.

im shia, and we know that the people who called themselves khalifa were nothing but greedy ambitious men fighting over power and using the title of khalifa to keep the people mentally enslaved to them.

no one can claim to be the leader of Muslims. a muslim is a free man,a muslim is a person of conscience, a muslim is brave and noble., and the only one who can claim a Muslims loyalty and respect is one worthy enough of loyalty and respect. only the best and the virtuous deserve to be followed. if such people can be found then the government must be run through public consent.

the ones who deserved to rule us have already given their lives for our sake. all these kings and these goddamn khalifas have broken us down throughout the centuries into people without spine and people lacking the commonsense to improve ourselves. its like they have driven society mad

The Islamic khalifat has been re established according to many. The Ahmadiyya do have the khalifat. They are all united under one leader, the Khalif. According to them, he is appointed by Allah Almighty, like all khalifs before him.

The so-Called Khilaafah of the latter Ottoman Empire was a collapsing behemoth, it did not benefit the Muslims but rather it only harmed them.

There would be no benefit in a Khilaafah today with the current state of the Muslims.

There is an Islaamic principle known as "Tasfiyyah wat-Tarbiyyah" (Rectification and education).

Imaam Maalik said: لا يصلح آخر هذه الأمة إلا بما صلح أولها

((The latter part of this nation will not be rectified except by that which rectified the first))

So there is no rectification whilst the Muslims are turning away from their religion and chasing the worldly life. There is no rectification whilst there are Muslims calling upon the dead for help whilst we are prohibited from that. There is no rectification whilst the Muslims continue to disobey Allaah and His Messenger.

Aboo Daawood reported in Volume 3 of his Sunan (3462) from the Hadeeth of ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar (صلى الله عليه وسلم) that the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

إذا تبايعتم بالعينة وأخذتم أذناب البقر ورضيتم بالزرع وتركتم الجهاد سلط الله عليكم ذلا لا ينزعه حتى ترجعوا إلى دينكم

((If you follow the interest-based transactions and hold firm to the tails of the cows, and are pleased with cultivation and left the Jihaad in the path of Allaah, the Humiliation of Allaah will be put upon you, and it will not be removed until you return to your religion))

The first step in establishing a Khilaafah is to establish Tawheed (monotheism) in the hearts and actions of the Muslims.

after the collapse of the Khalifat back in 3rd March 1924 people are still living, the latter day Kalifat did nothing for the Muslims what so ever.

Kalifat will not come back into existence any day now cos the western countries would never allow this, they know if the kalifat came back it just have to say Allah Hu Akar (God is Great) and all Muslims will look up and start protecting its self from the suffering we are subjected to, all sects will come together as one nations, and persecution is no more.

We wait for the Messiah Jesus son of Mary to lead us to the path of tranquility, in his second coming.
