What is the importance of a bay to our everyday life?

I live on the bayshore of NJ facing NY...the Raritan Bay is very important to the surrounding communities for several reasons.....

1. recreation - provide people with a natural resource to enjoy

2 economy - provide shore line where people can put buisnesses

3 social impact - its a place peoplecan go and meet

4. transportation - all good and ships that go to NYC or even up the Hudson River go through the raritan Bay....

5. environmental....Bays have a rich biodiversity and can house species of fish or birds throughout the year or offer prime migration groudns for seasonal species
