What is the importance of biodegradable plastic or cassava plastics?

"Conventional" plastics which are made from a hydrocarbon base, such as polyethene are virtually non-biodegradable. This results in a serious waste disposal;and pollution problem. There has therefore been a lot of technical effort to find a substituts plastic for packaging etc. Plastics made from a stach base have shown a lot of promise. Cassava would be a good source of this starch.

1. it can decompose meaning it can be the possible solution for the worsening of global warming

2. it can serve as an alternative for non biodegradable plastics which causes floods.
