Around the midwest, it's how we're accustomed to moving around.

For my wife taking her to work and shopping, for my kids taking them to school.For me to enjoy driving and sitting outside my wifes work place in the warm everynight for ages while she chats and takes forever to come out.

And to provide holiday pay for the boss at my local petrol station due to the cost of petrol around here as of the amount my car uses.

North America is a very large continent. Living here requires one to travel a long way at times.

Residential areas in North America are built with cars in mind. You have to drive quite a ways to do any shopping, right?

We live in a car culture. A car is a status symbol representing who we are, whether we are "sporty", "outdoorsy", "sophisticated", "rich", "a starving student"....

As North Americans we enjoy travelling and seeing our country's diversified beauty from coast to coast.

We buy houses with a garage.......for at least one car....

We go shopping at malls with parking facilities for thousands of vehicles.

There are many many companies marketing items related to drivers and their cars.

Cars need maintenance and repairs......and manufacturing too.........so it provides a consumer base for the economy

Personally, I teach driver education, and so "wanting to learn to drive" is my market and my income is derived from it.

Cars are an integral part of North American Culture, don't you think?

Cars have allowed millions to travel enormous distances for business and holidays cheaply and quickly.

They also allow many of us to make a living.

Unfortunately, public transport is not really safe.

Who wants to be around the loonies who use public transport during public holidays like, Boxing Day and New Years Eve?

a car is everything to me and my brother, i really cant see my life without my cars or bikes i even named them, my brother thinks i'm a lil crazy for naming them :p but i love them so much.
