  1. I am a Early Head Start Home Visitor.  I bring lesson plans that are research based on child development to the parents. I have seen parents learn to get involved with their children in ways that help the children develop properly in many ways, simply because we understand a lot more about brain development now than we did years ago. And we can all benefit from this knowledge. Parents who apply this knowledge when interacting with their children produce socially competent and more secure children who become better adult citizens in our society.

  2. -To update your own knowledge and skills

-To  bring into your setting the 'best practice' available.

-Provides a 'reflective' practice which means all chidlren are being considered rather than generalisations and ideas that are so old they dont work for todays world.

-If reassures parents that childcare and early years are important and not just 'groups of mums' looking after kids.

-Makes way for new discoveries that can help everyone involved in child development.
