Well, the importance of Saurav Ganguly is that he is the worst third grade player that i've ever come across! He is not at all worth being a Captain of the team as to his performance is not worth that a captain requires & his responsibility towards the team lacks! He needs more & more experience to be a captain. Becoming a captain through some kind of source does'nt work but the team requires or needs a responsible person to act as captain who can perform well along with the team & make the team win the game. Apart from this the kind of performance Saurav Ganguly showed in the following games of the IPL Games played for Knight Riders one can very well understand how & what kind of an experienced player he is.

I'm a huge fan of Sourav ganguly. I have been following his cricket since his earlier days. Initially I liked his stylish playing, his shots through offside. Also very soon he became a match winner along with Tendulkar.He has always been avery good 1-day player (not so good test player). He scored his first 18 one day 100's in no time. Then he became the captain of Indian team in 2000. I admired him for his agressive style of captaincy & straightforwardness. In his tenure as captain he always promoted the youngsters. If one can remember the stars of today(Harbhajan,Yuvraj,Dhoni,Kaif,Pathan... are the find under his captaincy .The earlier team was quiet lethargic on the field. He brought that spark in the team. This lethrgic team was replaced by "TEAM INDIA". Harbhajan & Yuvraj were recalled after being dropped under his tenure as captain & since then  they have never looked back. Also he took over the captincy from Azhar after matchfixing scandal. At that stage no body wanted to captain the side. He stepped forward &accepted the challenge. Today whatever success "Team India" has had for that the building blocks were laid by him. Although his batting form slumped but that never decreased my admiration for him. He has contributed alot to the sucess of Indian cricket.

Sourav  is not only the most elegant left hander India has ever produced, but also, the most successful Indian captain till date, who has brought us many glorious victories, by his agressive leadership. He is one of the best lefties of recent times, and his shots on the off side, and his cover drives are simply a wonder to look at. He is an useful medium pacer who is capable of breaking partnerships.

But the thing which I find most outstanding about "the Bengal Tiger" is his never say die atitude and undaunted courage. He has been wrongfully sacked from the team time and again, but he still had the will to continue. He taught us that perseverence is essential for success, and his comeback to the national team was truly inspiring. Sourav has the guts to protest against wrongs, which often led him to many controversies. But inspite that none was able to restrain him, because the prince of Kolkata is a charismatic, and a committed cricketer. There are many importances of Sourav Ganguly, but to me the most important of all is that he is our dear dada, who has taught us the most valuable lesson in life-to fight and not to surrender no matter how tough the job may be.
