  1. To get out of class!!!

oh yeah...(teachers answer) "to get you to be aware of your surroundings in a way that you would find amusing"

  2. To help students become aware of other things in the world.  Teachers have to make sure that the field trip goes with the curriculum of the school and has some learning value. It gives hands on instruction and a visual instead of just sitting in class and listening to a lecture.  It also helps those who learn better with hands on experiences.  In my school we go on field trips not only for what I listed above but many of our students do not get out of the area they are in because of lack of money and parental support. It is also a social event.  They need to know how to act appropriately.

Oh and yes to get out of class!!!!!!

  3. It's to broaden student's horizons and link learning to real life.  It least that's what they told us when we visited the local sewage plant.  Between my gagging bouts, I think I heard something about chemistry...
