See that wire coming from you PC?  It attaches to another wire in your house.  That wire attaches to a box outside that attaches to a wire at a hub in your neighborhood.  That hub has yet another wire to a station that attaches to a router, then a station, a DNS, and finally other locations.

That, the collection of connections, is the infrastructure.  The intelligence is in the DNS (dynamic Name Servers) that records where everyone is, their activities, and where they wish each information packet to go (such as my cyber stalker who I am lovingly tracking).
