  1. That type of insurance is rare and most companies don't offer it because: Vehicles are insured, not drivers.  If you have a valid license and permission to drive an insured vehicle you will be covered.   If I drove dozens of cars each day and had no way of knowing if they were insured, then I would consider that type of coverage but for most of us it just isn't necessary

  2. i'm not sure what type of insurance you are asking about.  you are able to drive any vehicle with your insurance.  your insurance would be excess over anyone else's.  meaning if you borrowed your friend's vehicle and hit another person and was at fault, your friend's policy would pay for the damage.  but say your friend didn't have insurance at all, then your policy would take over.

The nonowners policy which was previously mentioned is a basic liability policy which protects you on an excess basis.  meaning only if another party as no insurance or not enough insurance.  if you have a vehicle of your own this would not apply

  3. Farmers has it but i dont know what type it is called...and last time i checked you had to be over 25 yrs of age to do that

  4. a business insurance (or trader's) would allow you to do that if you can get it.

I have seen it here http://www.moneysavecenter.com it's free to get quoted so you might as well give it a go.

I bet at 16 it won't be easy though.

  5. A non-owners policy.  But you can't own or have a car available for regular use.
