  1. there's the hydrilla that is strangling our waterways and the everglades. and then there r all the fish that people buy and then throw out when they get too big for their tanks, like the talapia, peacock bass,& the oscar.

  2. I think you mean "invasve" not "invader" but there are several, the most prominent ones recently have been the pythons, many Buramise and reticulated pythons are being found, they were released from captivaty after they grew to large for the owners to care for them. The found that in the everglades they have no natural predators so live and breed freely, they are destroying the native bird population, as well as eating aligators, and even the ocassional cat or dog.

  3. Many people are letting their "pet" pythons or boas loose in the everglades. People buy these snakes and forget how quickly they grow and become a real problem.   These snakes are creating a real problem because they eat native animal species and have no predators...except the alligators...who are also eaten by the boas/pythons.

  4. 1. Army Corps of Engineers

    2. Urban expansion.

  5. There are a number of invasive species in the Florida everglades including:

Florida Holly, Brazilian-pepper tree (Schinus terebinthifolius)

    Australian Pine  (Casuarina equisetifolia)

    Hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata)

    Pythones

  6. old world climbing fern and (seriously) pythons that were previous pets.
