  1. is x-6 an equation? if so, then its inverse is (x-6)/x. If not, then x/x = 1, 1-6 = -5, and the inverse of that is -1/5.

  2. let y = x/x-6

    => y(x-6) = x

    => xy - 6y = x

    => xy - x = 6y

    => x(y-1) = 6y

    => x = 6y/(y-1)

    replacing y by x

    y = 6x/x-1 which is your inverse QED

  3. The inverse of x/x-6 = 1-(6/x)

  4. Inverse in the most general sense means reciprocal.

    Inverse of x/(x-6) is 1/ { x/(x-6) } = (x-6)/x
