The irish free (Saorstat Eireann)state as a political entity does not exist anymore(1922- 1937).This is usually a derogratory term used by ulster unionists, however it makes them look worse because as they are the anthesis of all things irish they live in the irish captive/ Unfree state as a result of using this term.

    It sets out the rights and privalages of all irish people and the right to irish soverenty and self determination. Similar to the us constitution.

    All republics have them, the north of ireland is subjecct to the uk which does not have a constitution as such.

    The difference between the Irish and US constitution is the irish one is a living document that is subject to change at the peoples wish in the process of referendum.

    The irish free state constitution was replaced with the constitution of today in 1937.

    In 1922 ireland was similar to Austrailia today as it was a constitutional monarchy but not solely independent.
