Donating blood or donating organs?

Also what about genetic engineering to cure diseases?

What about producing successful plants/crop and cloning plants also animals etc to satisfy people's needs...for food?

This happens everywhere to make desired animals, plants to sell...isn't nature supposed to be in the hands of allah (Swt)?

  1. I also wanted to know this.  I went to the organ donation website.  They actually have a section on religious perspectives which was very interesting and informative.  to to www.uktransplant.org.uk and find the section Islam and organ donation.

    hope it helps

  2. Well blood i'd think is ok......no one really wants someone elses blood unless they NEED it.....so that means they are in critical condition... (some athletes used to store their blood, then before a game, have the blood re-injected so they are able to carry more oxygen......but they use their own blood.....i'm going off topic....there was a point to that)

The only reason i've heard people question if donating organs is wrong is that we are suppose to return to the earth when we die. Sooo if you give your heart away to someoen, you can't return it to the earth.  But I've heard that this is not somethign to worry about and its ok.

I'm biased i guess towards genetic engineering being ok, because i do some of that.

But in all honesty...lets say a plant..you can breed a plant to get the result you want, but you have to wait maybe 50 years of constant breeding.......or you can try genetic engineering....and in a few months you find out if it worked or not.    Now on the chemical level, the genetic engineered plant and the plant that was bred for the desired result will be identical.   You'll only be able to know if its engineered if someone told you it was.

Some say only god can decide about things in nature....well i say if he was going to prevent the result from happening naturally, the genetic engineering will also fail.

Also we are told that every disease has a cure, but we have to find it....and well, genetic engineering could cure some of the diseases...so it think that fits the description.

and i'm unsure about cloning....i'm mixed on my own personal feelings.

  3. You are allowed both Donate Blood and donate Organs, to ill or dying people. Donations for a Good cause are allowed, donating to gain money or other things are not.

You have to understand, Genetic engineering, cloning plants, crop and even animals is done within Nature itself, it isn't anything that didn't exist outside of this universe. If you believe Allah(SWT) created all, then you must accept that whatever we have exist for a reason. It is how we use everything around is determines whether it is Haram or Halal.

  4. You can't donate blood or organs unless the person is dying and this is the only thing you can do then it's okay, but that person has to be someone you know pretty well. u can use genetic engineering to cure diseases. Cloning is not okay for any living thing. and yes nature is suppose to be in the hands of Allah SubhanawatAllah.

  5. Good question.

donating  blood is allowed in Islam even if the person u will donate to is a non-muslim,

Dont know about the other things.

I personally in favor of animal cloning but i am against human cloning.
