The land body which connects Africa to Asia is surprisingly a small peninsula called the Sinai peninsula. The Sinai peninsula also contains the Suez Canal connecting the Red Sea and Port Said of the Mediterranean Sea.  

The Sinai peninsula is often mistakenly referred to as the Suez Peninsula- a common misconception.
