  1. Other titles include counselor, attache, vice-consul, first/second/third secretary, Deputy Chief of Mission, Charge d'Affaires.

  2. there are many job titles within an embassy and some of them probably vary by country - consul, deputy ambassador, clerk, cultural liason, etc.

  3. Embassy staff...

I'm sure each one of them has a separate job title, but as a whole, it's simply "embassy staff".

There are 2 types of embassy staff - the diplomats, the highest rank of which is the ambassador - and the non-diplomatic embassy staff, like secretaries, accountants etc.

The "consulate" is usually a separate entity from the embassy, and is headed by a consul,  who is usually an ambassador in rank as well. The consulate is in charge of visas etc

  4. ambassador and counsel

  5. The main work of an Embassy is to ensure that the people of their country are happy in the foreign land . If there is any legal problem in their lives, the Embassy can help.

The people working in an Embassy have duties like

Visa processing,Petition resolving, and a lot of other diplomatic work.
