so my forehand isnt too bad but my backhand is costing me crucial points. I tried a one handed back-hand but it usually lobs over the net so i switched to the 2 handed-backhand and at first it gave me more power and winners but my opponents have noticed that and they hit the ball at teh baseline forcing it to bounce high(to my shoulders) and im forced to use a one-handed backhand which screws me over..is there any tips out there? how can i get a solid one-handed backhand?

  1. Your backhand can either give you a competitve edge or be your downfall. First you have to work on becoming comfortable with your footing, grip, and court positioning. When it comes to winning points at matches, you should try to change it up a bit every once in a while. You need to understand your opponent's strengths and weaknesses. For the balls that hit the baseline, you need to either run up to the servie line to volley it or run behind the baseline to hit a successful backhand. Hope that helps!!! Oh and by the way, stick with the two-handed backhand!

  2. Erm i don't know if this is correct or not. Iv never recieve professional teaching but i always try to hit as low to the net as possible. For my back hand i just keep telling myself to aim low and use top spin, that makes the ball swerve down even if u hit it too high. I also find two handed backhands easier.

  3. you got say "IM RICK JAMES *****" then you'll have the most powerful back hand, but seriously try keeping the swing short and compact
