  1. there is no king of england

  2. She will be the King's wife.

  3. a babysitter

  4. no its queen the reason being i suppose that a king is higher than a queen but if the queens hubby was known as king it would make him higher than her....ermmm if you follow my reasoning lol ...not sure how we would take to queenie camilla though!

  5. Queen

  6. The king's wife in the British monarchy is known as Queen.  Her Majesty, The Queen.

When Prince Philip was married to Queen Elizabeth they both took the style of Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and when the Duchess ascended to the throne after her father's death it was Prince Philip's wishes that his title stayed the same.

Prince Charles's wife, Camilla, is now known as Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.  When Charles ascends to the throne Camilla will be known as Princess Consort and not Queen.

  7. Usually, the King's wife would be called Queen.

But as Camilla was divorced before she married Charles, I think they are planning to name her Princess Consort or something like that.

  8. duchess right now, when prince chalres's becomes king she will be queen

  9. Big debate whether Camillla would continue being called the Duchess of Cornwall or whether she would be a Queen...

  10. The Queen consort...When Prince Charles becomes King the next Queen consort  will be his  wife....she will be Queen Camilla. Like it or not that's the way it goes.

  11. I believe Camilla will never be addressed as Queen.  I believe William's first and hopefully only wife will be addressed as Queen.  I would imagine that Camilla will be known as the Duchess, just like now.  They might make her official title Queen Consort, but I do not believe she will ever be addressed as her majesty.  Just my opinion.

  12. A British King's wife is known as his "Queen Consort."  A queen consort is the title given to the wife of a reigning king, just like how a Queen would give her husband the title of "King Consort". King consort is a title given in some monarchies to the husband of a queen regnant. Nowadays, it is a symbolic title only, the sole constitutional function of the holder being similar to a queen consort, namely to produce an heir to the throne. Spain, Portugal, England and Scotland have all had kings consort; however, since the rank of king normally outranks that of queen, in most monarchies the queen's husband is given the title of prince or prince consort instead.

The wife of the British King may also choose to be called "Princess Consort." A princess consort is the female equivalent to a prince consort. It is a title that may be given to the spouse of a king regnant, if the title queen consort is not applied.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is legally the consort and wife of the Prince of Wales. Clarence House has indicated that when Charles accedes the throne it is intended that she will use the title HRH The Princess Consort. However, unless a specific Act of Parliament is passed to the contrary, she will, as a King's wife, legally be Queen, regardless of whether she uses that title or not.

When a woman marries into the royal family, she will also take on the feminine equivalent titles and styles of her husband's. Camilla is currently Duchess of Cornwall because Prince Charles is Duke of Cornwall.

Camilla's full style is Her Royal Highness, The Princess Charles Philip Arthur George, Princess of Wales and Countess of Chester, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Carrick, Baroness of Renfrew, Lady of the Isles, Princess of Scotland.

As you can see, all her titles are the feminine equivalent of Prince Charles, as she is called "The Princess Charles Philip Arthur George" not "Princess Camilla". This is a very common mistake that most people make even with Diana, Princess of Wales. They are not a princess in their own right, but rather married into this title, so it is incorrect to put "Princess" in front of their name.

  13. The King's wife is Queen. However, when Prince Charles takes the throne, I believe Camilla won't be referred to as Queen. I think she'll still be called the Duchess of Cornwall or whatever the heck she is.

  14. Queen.

When the ruler is King, his wife gets to be queen.

when there is need to distinguish:

Queen regnant, when the queen is ruler

and Queen consort when she is the wife

  15. Since, the former Camilla Parker Bowles is just the second wife of HRH Prince Charles, her title will just be Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

  16. Charles' wife is Camilla Parker Bowles - she is the Duchess of Cornwall.
