  1. Huh.?   this question MAKES NO  SENSE

  2. a knot is one nautical mile per hour - so a knot on the water is the same as a knot on land.

NOW, the measure of spead we typically use on land is a mile per hour, based on a statute mile, not a nautical mile. a nautical mile is 6076 ft which is the distance of one minute of arc at the equator.  (a circle is 360 degrees and divide each degree by 60 to get minutes)  a statute mile or land mile is 5283 ft.  good luck!

  3. 1 knot = 1.852 km/h or 1.151 mph

Please check this web site for convertions online

  4. 1.15 mph aprox

the reason a nautical mile is longer is because the curve of the earth is taken into account

  5. It is one nautical mile-per-hour.

The nautical mile is a unit used in measuring distances at sea, equal to approximately 2,025 yards (1,852 m).

Or, in other words, one knot = 1,852 metres-per-hour.

    Sorted!

  6. one and a quarter mile per hour

  7. 1.15m.p.h.

  8. 1.15 MPH it is. A nautical mile for rocketry purposes, however, is 2000 yards, so 1 knot on that basis is about  1.136 MPH
