  1. Dry, arid desert. The majority of inland Australia in inhabitable.

  2. Flat and dry....But the other quarter 'more' than makes up for it

  3. Flat and old. Did you know that the oldest mountain range on the planet is in Alice Springs (Mt Sondor) and so is oldest river. (Finke River.) That is why the place is so flat and arid, billions of years of erosion. Everywhere east of the Great Dividing Range is pretty lush, green and fertile. West of that its basically dustville.

  4. Which three fourths?

  5. Most of the inner australian landscape is harsh dry desert. Alot of it is also bush or scrub land.

Check out these pics for some ideas on what it looks like:

This is why the majority of Aussies reside in the major cities closer to the coast.

Although most of Australia is dry flat red dirt.. a major part of it is also beautiful coastline with white sandy beaches.

We also have beautiful rainforests and mountain ranges, and even snow in these mountain ranges when winter comes!

    Australia is a beautiful place!
