What is the Old German word for dog or bad dog ? Is it still hund?

  2. I am German and I'm not quite sure what you mean by old and new German... Anyways, like WimS already mentioned, some of the German spelling has changed, and is now called Neue Deutsche Rechtschreibung (new German spelling). In case you're talking about East (former GDR) and West Germany, there is just different dialects just like in other German federal states such as Swabian, Saxony or Bavarian.

  3. Of course, it's still "Hund". Old-German was spoken thousand years ago in medieval times. Modern German since 1650. Or do you mean the orthography? The German spelling reform of 1996 has been completed last year. Now there are now less words with letter "ß" (muß --> muss) "ph" has changed to "f" (Phantasie --> Fantasie) and some other changes (aufwendig --> aufwändig, rauh --> rau, fahrradfahren --> Fahrrad fahren ...
