While i was vacationing in Canada this year, I picked up my pole, throw it in, and a couple seconds later I pulled out a 12 in. rock bass. I was just wondering how much larger it could have possibly gotten?

  1. 12 inches is BIG for a rock bass as they rarely get larger. The record weight is around 3 pounds.

  2. down here in texas, ive got an 8inch out of the Brazos, 3lb is complete max

  3. I've actually caught a rock bass in a tributary of Lake Erie and it was HUGE.. I'm guessing all of 11". So I'm not at all surprised you caught a fish that big...Might want to consider having it mounted unless you let it go, even so..if you got a pic or two of it a replica mount would be even better.  Fish lives to breed on and you get your trophy.  Nice Catch!!

  4. 3 Lbs.  That is the world record that came out of Lake Erie on June 18 1998.
