The answer is "probably not a lot". Federal work-study program rules require that participants be paid at least the Federal minimum wage.

However, the maximum possible amount you can earn is the calculated difference between your Cost of Attendance and any other aid and assistance you have been provided.

You can not work more than 20 hours in a week, or 40 hours in a 2-week pay period, and you must provide a class schedule to your work supervisor, because you are not permitted to work during scheduled classroom hours.

The average award last year was approximately $1335.
